Teacher Arrested for Illicit Sexual Activity

On June 14’th, the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office completed an investigation involving Robert Todd Crutchfield, a teacher at King Middle School in Santa Rosa County.

 

Initial reports to the Investigators advised Crutchfield contacted a former student who was 14 years of age on Facebook. After the friend request was accepted by the juvenile, a conversation ensued. Later, the conversation was continued on a cell phone via text messaging.

 

During the course of the texting, the conversation became sexual in nature. An adult who was affiliated with the juvenile was contacted who then notified the Sheriff’s Office

 

Investigators were able to continue the conversation with Crutchfield where he ultimately told the juvenile he was interested in meeting in person. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement was also working with the Sheriff’s Office to bring this case to a resolution. A time and location was agreed upon to meet the juvenile but instead, Crutchfield met Law Enforcement officers where he was subsequently arrested. A search warrant was executed at the residence of Crutchfield where additional items were seized for evidentiary purposes.

 

Crutchfield is being held on a one million dollar bond.
