Royals Advance

Both the boys’ and girls’ basketball teams for Jay advanced in their respective district tournaments. The Jay boys (9-13) defeated Laurel Hill on Tuesday night 61-52 to advance to the semi-finals to face Paxton (21-4). While Paxton has topped the Royals twice this year, both contests were close. As if it hasn’t been cold enough around north Santa Rosa County, news on Monday, February 2nd, spread from Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania where the world famous groundhog Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow. That means, you guessed it, six more weeks of winter.
