Milton-Over one hundred Veterans, city and county officials and locals gathered at the Santa Rosa County Memorial Plaza on Memorial Day in Milton to pay tribute to fallen soldiers.

The Veterans Memorial Plaza’s annual Memorial Day ceremony will be held Monday, May 26 at 10 a.m., at 5191 Willing Street in Milton, in remembrance of the brave men and women who gave their lives while serving our country. Malarie Cooper, a Jay student, and her steer “Taz” won a state wide contest for “Steer of the Year.” The winner was chosen by votes via social media. Malarie and “Taz” won by just seven votes. Over 10,000 votes were tallied. Congratulations Malarie!
