Ty Posey signs with Coastal Alabama

Thursday-Jay High senior Ty Posey signed a golf scholarship with Coastal Alabama today inside the historic JHS auditorium. Posey advanced to the FHSAA Regional 1 tournament this year and was the school’s number one golfer the past two seasons.
“Ty is the kind of player you love to coach,” JHS head golf coach Rhett Rowell stated. “He puts in the extra time that is needed to excel in this sport.”

Ty consistently shot in the upper 30s throughout the 2023 season and finished in the top third of 81 golfers at the regional tournament.
“Ty has been on our radar for quite some time,” David Jennings stated, Coastal Alabama’s head golf coach. “He’s not only a great golfer, but he’s a high character individual…he’s just the kind of golfer we’re looking for.”

“Ty comes from a great family and we’re so excited for him and his future,” Rowell added.

“I’m extremely thankful for Coastal giving me the opportunity to further my golf career,” Posey stated after the signing ceremony. “I’m very excited about getting to play collegiate golf…it means everything to me. All of my hard work is starting to pay off.”
