Monday-Jay (19-3) hosted winless Northview in the first round of the district tournament and got the big win over their rivals, 67-20. Northview got on the board first, but the early 2-0 lead would be the only lead of the game for the Chiefs. Jay’s Tristan Watson lead all scores with 25, connecting on seven three pointers (four of which came in the first quarter).

The Royals jumped out to a 37-11 halftime lead, allowing many of the starters to rest much of the second half, which is greatly beneficial with a quick turn around as this is tournament week. Jay hosts Baker on Tuesday in the semi-finals at 7:30pm.

Nine Royals in all got in the score book against the Chiefs.
