Share the Road…
It’s that time of year again…from now until December, farmers will be at their busiest. Peanuts are being dug and turned over to dry, soon to be picked and hay is being bailed. The dust is in the air and tractors are on the road. Be mindful of this. 99.99% of farmers use the road to get from this field to that field to this barn. After peanuts, cotton will be picked, packed, loaded, and hauled away. We, locals who are lucky enough to live in north Santa Rosa, should be accustomed to the yearly process and appreciate the work that our farmers do for all of us. That is, if we like to eat. Farmers are making their living and it’s the busiest time of the year for them.
It is important to keep this in mind the next time you’re behind a tractor. Be patient. Pass when it’s safe. And share the road.
