Elizabeth Brumfield awarded Santa Rosa County employee of the quarter

Elizabeth Brumfield was recently awarded Santa Rosa County’s employee of the quarter. Brumfield has served in the GIS industry for more than 20 years and was recently promoted to GIS analyst III. She received her bachelors of science in geography from Old Dominion University and has continued to expand her GIS knowledge throughout her career.

Brumfield is quick to lend a hand when someone needs assistance and interacts with both the public and staff in a polite and professional manner. With a keen understanding of geo-processing tools, the SDE environment, and web maps and applications, her daily duties include ranging new subdivisions, updating the county streets layer in GIS and creating new street sign templates, as well as quickly developing maps for staff and officials upon request. Brumfield was instrumental in organizing Santa Rosa County’s first annual GIS Day last November and has been an integral part in the development of the county’s GIS-based asset management system and training staff on its use in the field.

“As technologies improve, Elizabeth is always willing to learn the latest workflows and test fresh products; she thrives on new challenges and responsibilities,” said Tanya Gallagher, GIS director. “She takes time to mentor recently hired employees and shares her knowledge with her team. She’s truly a valuable asset to Santa Rosa County.”
