MILTON PARKS DEPARTMENT SEEKS PUBLIC INPUT

The City of Milton Parks and Recreation Department is seeking the public’s input on future development/expansion of the Guy Thompson Community Center which is located at 5629 Byrom Street.The GTCC, which was formerly known as the Milton Community Center, houses the Milton Parks and Recreations’ offices, a gym, a fitness room, as well as three multipurpose or meeting rooms.

Milton Parks and Recreation Department Director John Norton seeks the public’s input on what they feel is needed in regards to expanding the Guy Thompson Community Center to ensure it meets Milton’s future needs at a public forum scheduled for May 17 at 6 p.m. at the Guy Thompson Community Center.

“We are urging everyone in the community to come and participate in this public forum. As Milton continues to grow, we want to make sure the Parks and Recreation Department meets the future needs of the public at the community center” said Norton.
Currently the Guy Thompson Community Center serves as the home to the Milton Parks Department offices, active adult programs, youth programs, as well as hosting events for the community throughout the year.

Norton said “We know the interest in what takes place in Milton is growing as our community grows and this is the perfect opportunity for the public to have input into the future development of the community center.”
