On Thursday, Jay hosted its annual Christmas Tournament. Eight teams total, four boys’ teams and four girls’ teams, representing 6 schools in all.

Day one was filled with blowouts as all four games were pretty much decided by midway through the 3rd quarters. Games started at 3 pm and concluded shortly before 9 with the closest point differential being the 17 point loss by the Royals to PCA.

Today’s games, however, should be much closer. The action starts today at 3pm with the girls’ consolation game between the Hoboes from Laurel Hill against the Jaguars from Central. That game will be followed up by the boys’ consolation game with the hosting Royals pitted against district foe, Freeport (does not count towards district record) at 430pm. At 6pm, the Lady Royals face off against Pace in the girl’s championship and then Central boys’ face PCA for the boys championship at 730pm.
