Veteran’s Day Information

This Wednesday, November 11, we as a nation celebrate Veteran’s Day. It is a day that was set aside for those who have served this great nation and protected our freedoms. Back in 1918, during World War I, on November 11, at 10:58 am, an armistice (cease fire) was signed. Although the Treaty of Versailles was not signed until June in 1919, the armistice signed on the 11th day of the 11th month in the 11th hour is generally touted as the end of World War I. “Armistice Day,” as it was first called by Congress, became an official holiday in 1938, under president FDR. The name of the holiday was changed to Veteran’s day in 1954 under President Eisenhower.

Please take time to thank a Veteran for serving.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of our active service members and our Veterans who have served so bravely.
