Possible Scam EREC customers should know about

Attention Escambia River Electric Cooperative members:

We have received a few calls from our members reporting a scam. The caller impersonates an EREC employee and says your power will be disconnected for nonpayment if you don’t provide them a credit card number for payment immediately.

Do not be a victim of this scam! Remember:  EREC employees will not call a member at home to obtain any personal information nor will they ask a member for money when visiting their residence.  EREC employees carry identification badges with their picture, name, and EREC’s name and logo.
