Library Closures
Libraries will be closed on Friday & Saturday, July 3 & 4 in observance of Independence Day. Libraries will resume normal business hours on Monday, July 6.

Libraries will also be closed on Thursday, July 16 for staff training. No items will be due on this day.

Summer Reading Program through July 17
Come to any of the five Santa Rosa County Libraries in Gulf Breeze, Jay, Milton, Navarre and Pace for a fun program! Read for 15 minutes per day between June 1 and July 17 for great prizes. You may register online. Pick up a reading calendar at your library or print one online from the program registration page. Bring your completed reading calendar to your library’s last program or through July 31 to claim your prizes!

Programs for students who were in kindergarten through the 5th grades during the last school year will be held:
• 1 p.m. on Mondays at the Navarre Library
• 1 p.m. on Tuesdays at the Jay Library
• 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays at the Pace Library
• 1 p.m. on Wednesdays at the Milton Library
• 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays at the Gulf Breeze Library
All activities are free and open to the public. Registration for programs is not required. In consideration of all participants, programs will start promptly at the assigned times. Please check the library website for details at www.santarosa.fl.gov/libraries.

Storytime
Santa Rosa County Libraries provide storytime for 3 to 5 year olds who are able to attend without a caregiver during the following times through July 17:
• 11 – 11:30 a.m. on Mondays at the Jay Library
• 11 – 11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays at the Navarre Library
• 11:15 – 11:45 a.m. on Wednesdays at the Milton Library
• 11:15 – 11:45 a.m. on Wednesdays at the Gulf Breeze Library
• 11 – 11:30 a.m. on Fridays at the Pace Library

Extend your summer library fun! Join us at the Milton Library on Wednesdays at 4 p.m. for family movie afternoons from July 22 through Aug. 12. A variety of entertaining movies will be shown. The movies are free and open to the public. The Milton Library is located at 5541 Alabama St. in Milton.

Genealogy Research Assistance – Milton Library
Mondays 9 a.m. – noon
On Mondays from 9 a.m. – noon library volunteers are available at the Milton Library located at 5541 Alabama St., to provide general genealogy research guidance, one-on-one assistance in using online and print genealogy resources for family researchers, and assistance in filling out ancestral charts and family group records. Beginners and seasoned researchers are invited to use these services. To ensure a volunteer is available to assist you, please call before you visit.

Hopeful Hearts – Navarre Library
Fridays, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
A series of meetings for “Hopeful Hearts,” a bereavement support group, will be held at the Navarre Library on Fridays from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. The weekly sessions will address grief support and offer assistance, love and listening ears to those grieving over the loss of a loved one. All materials will be provided and no reservation is required. There is no charge to participate. The programs are held at the Navarre Library located at 8484 James M. Harvell Rd. in Navarre.

Coffee Talk Book Club – Gulf Breeze Library
July 8, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
This month’s selection is “Sixth Extinction” by Elizabeth Kolbert. This title won a 2015 Pulitzer Prize for non-fiction. The Nonfiction Book Club meets at the Gulf Breeze Library study room on the second Wednesday of every other month. Speak with a staff member for details. READ Dogs – Pace Library
July 11, 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Come, Sit, Stay & R.E.A.D. with a furry friend in the Pace Library July 11, from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. Registration is required. The program is held on the second Saturday of each month at the Pace Library located at 4750 Pace Patriot Blvd. in Pace. Contact the Pace Library for more information or to sign up.

Movie Matinee – Navarre Library
July 14, 2 p.m.
To celebrate the release of “Go Set a Watchman” the Navarre Library will host a showing of the movie adaptation of Harper Lee’s first novel. You will also get to enjoy special features about this film. This program is open to the public and there is no charge or prior registration required. Refreshments are provided by the Friends of the Navarre Library. The Navarre Library is located at 8484 James M. Harvell Rd. in Navarre.

Friends of the Gulf Breeze Library Board of Director’s Meeting – July 14, 5 p.m.
Board meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 5 p.m. at the Gulf Breeze Library. The Gulf Breeze Library is located at 1060 Shoreline Drive in Gulf Breeze. Please see the Friends website www.facebook.com/friendsofgblibrary for more information.

Super Hero Summer Camp – Navarre Library
Mondays July 20 – Aug. 10, 1 p.m.
You are invited to be a super hero at the summer camp at the Navarre Library. The programs for youth in kindergarten through 5th grades will be held on Mondays at 1 p.m. from July 20 – Aug. 10. Registration is required at the library for the camps on July 20 and August 10. Registration begins on June 29. Contact the Navarre Library for additional information or to register. Christmas in July at the Gulf Breeze Library
Ornament Making Class July 22, 3:30 – 5 p.m.
Help us decorate the ultimate Gulf Breeze Holiday Tree. From July 22 until Dec. 1 drop off an ornament that represents your family and life in Gulf Breeze. Are you a big fan of fishing? How about a fun fish ornament. Do you play soccer? A soccer ball ornament with your family name on it would be great. Be sure to paint your name and the year on the ornament and let’s see how many Gulf Breeze folks we can get on our tree. Amy and Laura with the Gulf Breeze Library will be hosting an ornament making class on July 22, 3:30 – 5 p.m. There is no registration required and supplies will be provided. The Gulf Breeze Library is located at 1060 Shoreline Drive in Gulf Breeze.

Hospice Hour – Navarre Library
July 22, 3:30-4:30 p.m.
A series of hospice programs will be presented at the Navarre Library on the fourth Wednesday of each month. Shannon Snowden, R.N. and Karen Englert, both of Emerald Coast Hospice, will explain how hospice services work, what types of services including home health care are provided, and when hospice services might be beneficial. The program will be held in the Navarre Library Meeting Room, located at 8484 James M. Harvell Rd. in Navarre.
