Jay Cheer takes Third in State
The Jay High School competitive cheer squad attended the FHSAA State Cheer competition this weekend in Orlando. Twenty-seven teams from all over the state of Florida were in the small non-tumbling division. Only the top seven teams advanced to the final round. After performing a near flawless routine, the Royals waited to see if they would make the cut. As the announcer began to call the names of the teams that would advance, Jay’s team held their breath. Jay High School was the first team announced to advance! The girls celebrated and began to prepare to do their routine one last time.
As the time came, the girls again perform beautifully. The girls finished third behind two teams who had won state titles for the last four years. Jay’s squad is making a name for themselves in the cheer world. “They are cute, talented, and smart. C’mon, they are the total package.” was a statement made at Silver Spurs Arena about Jay’s cheerleaders. They will be back fighting for a state title.
