National Wear Red Day
Baptist Health Care and Cardiology Consultants are partnering with Belkon Fri., Feb. 7 for National Wear Red Day to help fight heart disease in women. Free heart risk assessments will be offered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the entrance of Belk in Cordova Mall. Assessments include a family history review, non-fasting total cholesterol test and blood pressure check.
According to the American Heart Association, the No. 1 cause of death in women is heart disease, taking the life of one woman every minute. Additionally, 43 million women in the U.S. are affected by heart disease and only 1 in 7 American women believe that cardiovascular disease is her greatest health threat.
