Pensacola’s Halloween Fest starts soon
Scary? Freaky? Wacky? Weird? Fun?
Put them together and you have a Tour of Pensacola that will get you in the right spirit for Halloween.
Enjoy family fun and spooky stories with The Red Trolley Repertory Theatre, which offers a 90-minute Halloween Tour of Pensacola history that is more fantasy than fact. But it has singing zombies, a talking tree and performers at eight separate stops.
Aboard the Red Trolley, you will encounter restless spirits and dastardly demons and encounter many tricks and even a few treats!
The tour includes a stop at the infamous Seville Square “hanging tree” where pirates met their fate, plus a chorus line of 13 zombies performing Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”
There’s more skullduggery afoot, too. The ghost of Michael Meyers has escaped from Chattahoochee and is stalking the Red Trolley’s tour guide, Laurie. But never fear, Dr. Loomis and Officer Crouse will protect you as you make your way through the Historic Seville District to the Witch’s House, where you will be greeted by the fabled “Tree Spirit” of Intendencia Street.
Join us if you dare. Tickets are $20 for adults, $5 for children.
The 6-mile tours leave the Visitors Information Center at Wayside Park at 6:30 p.m. and last approximately 90 minutes. Dates: Oct. 11, 12, 18, 19, 25 and 26. Reservations are recommended.
Call (850) 417-7321 or visit www.halloweentrolley.com to buy tickets or get more information.
Pumpkin Carving Contest, too!
Put your knives and artistic talent to work.
Halloween Fest is sponsoring a pumpkin-carving contest. Jack-o-lanterns are needed to light the way to the witch’s haunted house where the pumpkins will be displayed. Pumpkin Man will be on hand to accept the carved pumpkins at the Visitors Information Center on each night of the tours. Prizes include two tickets to Winterfest, which begins Nov. 29 with a parade of elves – children 7 or younger – and Santa Claus.
