Special Olympics Escambia/Santa Rosa hosting 2nd annual Halloween “Spooktacular” Bowl-a-thon!

Pensacola, FL- Grab your family and friends for some Halloween fun to support Special Olympics athletes in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties! The Bowl-a-thon will take place on Saturday October 19th from 2-4pm at Cordova Lanes on Airport Blvd in Pensacola. It will be a fun-filled afternoon with bowling, music, food and drinks, plus a Halloween costume contest! Individual players are welcome as well as teams of any size made up of families, friends and co-workers. Each bowler must raise a minimum of $25 in sponsorships to participate in the event. Raise even more money for Special Olympics athletes and win some great prizes! Grand prizes will be awarded to the top three fundraising individuals and teams. Win great prizes from Carmike Theater, Costume Superstore, Sam’s Fun City and more!
Come meet our Special Olympics bowling team, who is raising money to attend the State Fall Classic Competition on November 16th, and 17th, 2013. Athletes from Escambia and Santa Rosa will be traveling to ESPN World Wide Sports in Lake Buena Vista, FL to compete in Bowling, Power-lifting and Gymnastics.

Special Olympics Florida provides year-round sports training and competition to children and adults with intellectual disabilities, at no cost to the athlete or their caregiver, as a means to achieve physical fitness, self-esteem, socialization skills, and the life skills necessary to be a productive, respected and contributing members of their communities.
