Pensacola State to offer Nursing Assistant Program in Century
Pensacola State College in Century is taking applications for the January, 2014 class of Nursing Assistant. The program is 12-weeks in duration and includes lecture classes and clinical placement. Century Center has graduated three groups of Nursing Assistant students since the opening of the Center in January, 2012. Graduates from this program are eligible to take the certification examination for nursing assisting. Certified Nursing Assistants work under the supervision of nursing and medical staff, assisting in the general overall care of patients. They help care for physically or mentally ill, injured, disabled, or infirm individuals and may work in hospitals, nursing or residential care facilities, mental health settings, home health or hospice.
Anyone interested in applying for this program is asked to attend an initial meeting on Wed., September 11 at 9:00am at PSC Century to complete necessary admissions, application, testing and financial aid forms. Century Center is located at 440 E. Hecker Rd. in Century, on the site of the former Carver/Century K-8 School. Representatives from PSC Health Professions, Health Professions Opportunity Grant (HPOG) and Workforce EscaRosa will be available for assistance.
