Letter Delivered to School District
On 5/9/13, The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by our School District regarding a suspicious letter. The letter was received by school member on 5/8/13.
On 5/8, a white male hand delivered a letter to a school staff member. The verbiage which was used in the short letter did not indicate threats to the school, students or staff. We are not certain why the letter was hand delivered or even the motive behind it. The letter referenced activities unrelated to school functions.
The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office has assigned additional Deputies to the case as well as additional patrols of the schools as a precaution.
We are asking anyone with knowledge of this incident to call the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office or Crime Stoppers at 437-STOP
This incident is under investigation and more information will be released as it becomes available.
