Harrison names Congressional Art show winner

Congratulations to Abby Harrison for getting named the overall Congressional Art Show winner for 2013.  She and her mom will be traveling to Washington D.C. to the White House to view her work.  Her work will be on display in the White House for a year.  She will also receive scholarship to Savannah College of Art and Design or possibly Pensacola State College.  We are very proud of her, this is a huge honor to be named overall winner.

The artwork piece titled “Self Portrait – “Innocence”” Medium: Graphic Design was created in the JHS Commercial Arts Academy.  This piece took many hours to complete.  Over 2,000 layers of the word “Innocence” to create her self portrait.  The judges were very select and from Universities and scholars in the field and had great things to say about her work.

Other students from JHS who were honored last night for getting into the competition were Dylan Nadsady, Gena May, and Alison Russell.
