Free Tour and Workshop on Cool Season Grasses, Thursday, Feb. 28 from3:30-8:00 p.m. at Jerry Jones’ barn at 12011 Hwy. 89, seven miles south of the red light in Jay.

Our program will be on Cool Season Grasses. Ann Blount, Ph.D., UF / IFAS Forage Specialist and Cheryl Mackowiak, Ph.D., UF/ IFAS Soil and Fertility Specialist will provide valuable winter and spring grazing advice for when the warm season grasses are not growing. The most efficient use of these grasses may be for younger animals or gestating brood cows that need higher quality forage than required by mature animals. We will also tour a 17 variety winter forage plot, followed by a workshop.
