Sheriff’s Office Investigating Shooting in Santa Villa

On 12-04-12 at approximately 9:15pm, Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Santa Villa Drive and West Avenida de Golf, Pace, FL.  Witnesses told dispatch that there were several vehicles present at the intersection, and that multiple gun shots were heard.  When deputies arrived, they located a vehicle on West Avenida de Golf occupied by a white male adult.  The person was parked in front of his residence and told the deputy that he had been “shot at”.  The vehicle had a bullet hole through the driver’s side window, and the driver suffered injuries to his arm from the flying glass.  The victim, who was merely driving by and not the intended target, was taken to a local hospital and treated for his injuries.  His two granddaughters were present with him in the vehicle but were not injured. He was released from the hospital after treatment. No suspects were present at the scene when deputies arrived; however evidence was located which showed investigators that at least one shot had been fired at that intersection.  Investigators have conducted numerous interviews with individuals and are making substantial progress.  No arrests have been made at the time of this release.  The investigation is still active and more information will be released as it becomes available.
