Jay’s Competitive Cheer Season to start

Jay High’s Competitive Cheer Squad, in their second season, will start their main competitions on December 1st at the West Florida Regionals to be held at Tate High School in Pensacola.  The squad has many small competitions scheduled during halftimes of the Royals basketball games, but their main competitions will be the West Florida Regionals at Tate;  The Christmas Cheer Classic at Graceville High on December 15th; FHSAA Regionals in Jacksonville on January 5th; Cheer Extravaganza at Chipola College on January 12th; Battle on the Beach at Ft. Walton Beach High on January 26th; and the FHSAA State Finals in Orlando, January 31st- February 2.

The squad members are Hannah Roberts, Sierra Mills, Sha Kinder, Katy Bodiford, Kayla Flowers, Kaitlyn Aguirre, Harley Bradley, Brittany Tegenkamp, Brook Tegenkamp, Morgin Mitchem, Kendra Wells, Makenzie Bray, Brittani Ashworth, Alisha Roberts, Alaina Smith, Leslie Kinder, Emily Wright, and  coach  Junia Fischer.

The girls are excited about their new stunts and routine for this year.  They are putting in numerous hours of practice to perfect the routine, and are attending gymnastics once a week to improve their skills.  That’s not counting the time needed for their regular duties of cheering and supporting their Royal teams.
