Chumuckla Student Council Host Drive for Needy

Chumuckla Elementary Student Council promoted a food drive and partnered with the United Way foundation for a coin drive to help some of the less fortunate families in our community. Picture of the food and coins that was raised. Student Council sponsors Gretchen Wiggins and Jessica Strickland. The 2012-2013 Council is made up of 10 – 6th grade members. Throughout the year, they volunteer in the community and at the Sandy Ridge Nursing Home. The Student Council members are active leaders in the school and strive to promote excellence in academics and in behavior. At the end of the year, the members go on a special trip to St. Augustine, FL to celebrate their accomplishments for the year. “Jessica and I really enjoy working with these students. We strive to be positive role models for these students. We teach these kids the importance of building friendships and working together as a team to help others! This is our 2nd year serving as Student Council sponsors.”‘ said Gretchen Wiggins.
