Marcus Evans Sentenced to 15 Years

State Attorney Bill Eddins announced that Marcus Darnell Evans, age 35, was convicted today of Lewd and Lascivious Conduct and two counts of Lewd and Attempted Lascivious Battery by an Escambia County Jury. Immediately following the conviction, Presiding Judge Linda Nobles sentenced Evans to 20 years state prison and designated him as a sexual offender. As a Prison Releasee Reoffender, the defendant will serve 15 years of his sentence day for day. The sexual offender designation is for life.

 The charges stemmed from allegations of sexual conduct between the defendant and the 14 year old victim on July 28, 2011.

 The investigation and arrest was conducted by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant State Attorney Anne Patterson prosecuted the case. For further information, please contact her at 595-4501.
