JHS XC At Esca Rosa Cross Country Championship

The Jay Royal’s Cross Country teams ran the EscaRosa Cross-Country Championship at the East Milton park this past Saturday, October 13th, hosted by Catholic and Milton High School.  It’s all Escambia and Santa Rosa schools competing for top Santa Rosa teams, and top Escambia teams.  Awards included medals for the top 15 runners in girl’s and boy’s races, and also grade awarded trophies were given 9-12th.  Two Jay girls were in the top 15 places getting medals.  Top runner for Jay was Jessica Thornton, 3rd place overall, with a time of 19:56, second best time of the season, receiving a medal and trophy for top Sophomore runner.  Also receiving a medal, Jorja Agrait 14th place, with a time of 21:36. The Jay Royals boy’s top finisher was Micah Kemp, 13th place overall, with a time of 17:15, who also received a medal.  ~Coach Teresa Hendricks
