Hundreds Participated in JD Mac Invitational Cross Country Meet
The JD Mac Invitational Cross Country Meet drew hundreds of participants from area schools. It was a great day for all runners. Organizer and coach of the Royals, Teresa Hendricks said, “Many (runners) receiving their personal best times on the fast course held at the Jay Bray-Hendricks Park located in Jay, Florida. As many as over 300 runners ran 3 races in all. Many top Elite runners were featured at the meet. Very proud of the Jay boys and girls teams for getting personal best times! Thank you to all the teams, parents, volunteers, Jay City Hall, Officer Oakes and Jay High staff for helping with the meet management.”
West Florida Tech won the girls meet and Navarre High won the boys meet. There were 15 schools represented and over 90 registered runners in each group.
Micah Kemp (5th place), was the top male runner from Jay with a time of 17:00.59 and Kyle Fuller was the top runner from Central with a time of 19:45. The top female runner from Jay was Jessica Thorton (6th place)with a time of 20:33 and the top Central runner was Beth Smith with a time of 23:37. Full results below along with a photo gallery.
