Katie Hudon Wolfe Doctorial Candidate Presents Dissertation at International Conference

Kathleen “Katie” Suzette Hudon Wolfe, a doctoral candidate at the University of West Floridaand native of Santa Rosa County, was recentlyselected to present her dissertation study and research results at an international conference held in Paris, France. Wolfe was also the recipient of five grant awards that supported her conference travel, attendance, and presentation at the Paris International Conference on Education, Economy, and Society.

Wolfe, who is also an attorney licensed in Florida and Alabama, shared her research addressing lawyers and management skills on July 26th with individuals from Australia, Asia, Europe, Africa, and South America in attendance. The forum nature of the conference allowed Wolfe to interact and discuss her research with policy makers, educational leaders, industry representatives, administrators, professionals, researchers, and academics.

For this project, Wolfe collected data from over 1,000 members of The Florida Bar Association and, with her advisor Sherry K. Schneider, Ph.D., performed complicated statistical analysis using the Structural Equation Model to test her hypotheses and research questions.She has received additional grant awards to fund her studies. Wolfe will publish her dissertation upon completion.

In addition to her doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction (in-progress) and her JurisDoctorate, Wolfe also holds an Educational Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction, a Master’s degree in Communication Arts, and two Bachelor’s degrees in the areas of History and International Studies. Wolfe laid the foundation for her collegiate studies at Central High School in Allentown.

While in Paris, Wolfe and her mother Katherine Dozier Penton were able to explore many Paris landmarks including the Eiffel Tower, Musée du Louvre, Notre Dame Cathedral and Towers,Napoleon’s Tomb, palace and gardens of Versailles, Musée d’Orsay, Pantheon, Musée Rodin,Flame of Liberty and Diana Memorial, Conciergerie (prison of Marie Antoinette), TuileriesGarden, Paris Opera House, Musée National du MoyenÂge, Paris Catacombs, Petit Trianon,MuséeCarnavalet (Paris History Museum), Queen’s Hamlet,Museo De L’ Orangerie, and theArc de Triomphe.
