Pensacola’s Overgroup is ‘a company to watch,’ experts say

A Pensacola software firm, Overgroup Consulting, is on the list of “Florida Companies to Watch,” cited for revenue growth, entrepreneurial leadership, job creation and other factors.

Overgroup was one of 50 companies chosen from 425 nominees for the recognition, established by a consortium of organizations working to help businesses grow. They include SunTrust Banks, the Florida Economic Gardening Institute (GrowFL) at the University of Central Florida, the Edward Lowe Foundation and the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity.

“I am honored to be a part of Florida’s Companies to Watch list,” says Ross Overstreet, CEO of Overgroup. “At Overgroup we are passionate about creating jobs that people love and improving the lives of our clients and the communities we serve.”

Overgroup offers H2O, an industry-leading cloud billing and customer service platform that enables telecom companies to adapt to customers’ desires and to expand in today’s fast-paced and competitive markets.

The “Companies to Watch” program honors “second-stage growth companies” — firms beyond the start-up phase that are capable of continuing to create jobs in their fields and improving their communities.

“We built ‘Companies to Watch’ on the belief that an energized entrepreneurial culture must exist for second-stage companies to thrive,” says Penny Lewandowski, director of entrepreneurship at the Edward Lowe Foundation.

This is the second recent honor for Overgroup, which is based in Pensacola’s Historic Seville Square area. In its September issue, “Inc. Magazine” named Overgroup as one of the 5,000 fastest growing businesses in the nation, based on revenue growth and other factors.

Overstreet is co-founder of the firm, which began 10 years ago as a two-person operation and now has more than 20 employees and 60-plus clients nationwide.
