Lady Jags Win Opener over the Canes

The Central Lady Jags took their season opener over the visiting Flomaton Hurricanes 3 out of 4 games.  The scoring was : Game 1: Jags 26-24; Game 2: Canes 25-18; Game 3: Jags 25-21 and Game 4: Jags 25-18.  Coach Melissa Baxley ,  “I feel like my seniors stepped up and led the game tonight.”  and when asked about the season so far, she replied,  “We have a lot of room for improvement, but I think overall we’ll step up and accomplish what we need to.”

The JV hosted the Flomaton Middle school and could only put the younger players on the court.  They had a tough game.  Coach Michelle Smith, is glad to get the season started after being delayed due to Hurricane Isaac. The team has been unable to get together to practice due to the stormy weather.

Brittany Forsythe (#15) , aces 5, 10 assists, 6 kills;Natalie Jernigan (#10) made 25,  aces 6, 13 digs; Haleigh Padgett (#21) 6 kills ;Arielle Harris (#20) aces 8, 3 kills; Adrienne Harris (#15)  aces 4, 19 digs;  Dana Blackman (#23) 3 kills, 4digs;
