1929-2012

Dana Faye Cobb was born in Jay, Florida on March 23, 1929 and died on August 4, 2012 in Apollo Beach, Florida. She was the daughter of James Daniel and Carrie Smith Williams and was a Florida Pioneer Descendant thru Noah Calhoun. She married Dewey Jack Cobb.

She graduated from Jay High School and retired from Monsanto R&D Accounting in 1986. She then devoted most of her time to her grandchildren and the elderly. She was a dedicated genealogist with a love of history and research.

She was preceded in death by her parents Carrie and “Uncle Dan” Williams; former husband Dewey Jack Cobb; daughter Cynthia and husband Robert Gregory, their infant, Kathryn; granddaughter, Kelly Lynn Gregory-Landrum; brothers, Drewery F. (Rada Carr) Williams and their sons Emette (Mary Frances) and Dennis (Linda): Hugh S. (Sybil Key) Williams and their son, James Ronald; sister and husband Eva Mae (Kenneth) Chavis and their sons, Kenneth Ray (Jean) and Raymond Curtis (Carol).

Faye is survived by her son, James Robert (Robin) and wife, Haven Jolene Cobb; ex-wife, Sharon Duke Cobb and their children, Shawn and Lauren and her son Peyton Simic of St. Petersburg, FL; great-grandson, Michael Landrum of Pensacola; great-granddaughter, Christina Pittman of VA; granddaughter, Terry Gregory Brown and her sons, Kenneth and Caleb of Stonewall, LA. She is also survived by her sister, Donna Arnette, and numerous much loved nieces, nephews and their children.

Please join us for a memorial service at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 18 with the service by Reverend Hall of Cora Baptist Church. Her ashes will be buried in the family plot at Cora Baptist Church Cemetery in Jay at approximately 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice .
