Early Morning Fatality on Hwy 90
On Sunday, August 5 around 4 am, Jose Alfredo Montero-Jimenez was pronounced dead after losing control of his pickup. Jimenez, 40, of Milton was driving a 2001 Ford F150 eastbound on the outside lane of US 90. Jimenez drove off the eastbound lane onto the south grass shoulder and over corrected loosing control of pickup. The truck began to rotate counter clockwise and crossed both eastbound travel lanes entering the center grass median. Jimenez over corrected a second time resulting in the pickup overturning multiple times.
Jimenez was not utilizing his available lap/shoulder restraint and was ejected from the truck, coming to final rest on the inside eastbound lane. An Unknown vehicle struck the debris and Jimenez on the inside eastbound lane of US 90. The unknown vehicle continued eastbound on the inside lane of US 90 loosing radiator coolant, not stopping at the scene. There is no known information on the second vehicle. The vehicle may be a ****** between 1999 to 2002.
The accident is still under investigation, although the initial report from the Florida Hwy Patrol indicates that Jimenez was driving under the influence.
