Ward Wins the Checkered Flag -Three Times in a Row
James Ward has won three consecutive races at Flomaton Speedway. He is in the Bombers class in the number 17 car. James attends Central school and will be going into the 10th grade, this is only his 2nd year of racing. James says, “the most nerve racking part of a race is right when you roll on the track and you side by side with all the other cars getting ready to go and I actually use alot of stratgey , but the most thrilling part is taking the checkered. ” James is active at Central and plays basketball. In his time off he loves to fish and hunt.
James is the son of Jayme and Robin Rich Ward. His dad keeps the car running around the track. James has 1 brother, Cody, 2 sisters, Tiffany and Charlsey and 2 nephews, Austin and Easton. His “pit crew” has consisted of Patrick Foley, Greg Norton, and Justin Abel. James has his own fan club that comes out to cheer him on.
Mom, Robin, is very proud of his accomplishments but also because, “James has worked very hard to get to this point, and I will say he works his butt off and has paid for that car and all the repairs himself, it does help that dad is the mechanic but James has paid for all the parts himself”.
Saturday, August 4 is the 3rd Annual Jarrod Johns Memorial Derby. Racing action begins at 8 pm. The payoff to the winner in the Bomber Class will be $1100.
Awesome Job, James. You do us proud.
