Suspects Arrested After Burglarizing Numerous Vehicles in Milton
Two Santa Rosa County juveniles have been arrested after committing multiple car burglaries in the Milton area. 13 year old Nicholas Dalton Fields, W/M (5000 block of Ridgeway Blvd, Milton) and 14 year old Jeffrey Scott Seward, W/M (6500 block of Renee Circle, Milton) have been been arrested and charged with 6 felony counts each of burglary and grand theft; and 3 counts each of petit theft in relation to the offenses. Deputies say the juveniles went “car hopping” during the late night hours of this past Saturday night (6/23/2012) and entered unlocked vehicles. “Car hopping” is when person(s) walk thru neighborhoods at night checking for unlocked car doors and enter them to steal items. They also reportedly stole bicycles that were left in a yard unsecured. More felony and misdemeanor charges are also pending at this time against both suspects. The burglaries occurred in the 6600 block of Woodbury Forest Drive, and the 6500 block of Renee Circle. All of the vehicles were unsecured and had valuables inside. Both suspects were arrested and taken to DJJ after they were found to be in possession of the stolen property that they took during the burglaries.
The Sheriff’s Office wants to remind the public that leaving vehicles unlocked is not an isolated incident. Deputies want to remind everyone to lock their car doors and secure their valuables and garage doors at all times.
