Mr.Big and the Rhythm Sisters at Evenings in Olde Seville

Thursday night, June 28 Evenings is Olde Seville will feature Mr. Big and the Rhythm Sisters.  The group is described as a  versatile and entertaining 9-piece world class horn band with female vocal troupe.  The group  features the South’s most select ssemblage of musicians.

Members hailing from New York, Washington DC, New Orleans, Miami, Cape Girardeau and Los Angeles, these seasoned musicians have performed with such greats as Lou Rawls, the Temptations, Dionne Warwick, Diana Ross, Frank Sinatra, the Platters, Harry Connick Jr and many more!

Showcasing great rhythm with a superb horn section and featured vocalists, they are known for their dazzling mix of Jazz, Swing and Big Band favorites plus a complete set of classic party hits.

Come out and join the fun starting at 7 pm.

The Evenings in Olde Seville Square summer concert series is in its 27th season. The 2012 series features concerts, satisfying musical tastes from big band to jazz and from Broadway to modern dance each Thursday from 7 to 9:15 p.m., in historic Seville Square in downtown Pensacola.  Since 1988, these music-filled evenings have become a tradition, recreating the popular concerts held in the city’s park at the turn of the 19th century.
When attending concerts, bring a lawn chair or a blanket for seating. Also, bring your appetite! Located on Alcaniz Street, concession stands also offer sandwiches, wraps, hot dogs, sausage, snacks and the “Evening’s” famous freshly popped popcorn as well as frozen desserts, soft drinks and bottled water.
