Atmore Family Medicine Changes to ACH Primary Care

Atmore Family Medicine is now ACH Primary Care,
Practice Welcomes Dr. Shane Harigel and Dr. Sheldon Harigel

ATMORE, Ala. (June 25, 2012) – With his retirement nearing, Jonathan Yoder, M.D. has sold his medical practice to Atmore Community Hospital. Effective July 1, Atmore Family Medicine will serve patients under its new name, ACH Primary Care.

Area natives Shane Harigel, M.D., and Sheldon Harigel, M.D., will serve patients at ACH Primary Care and will continue Dr. Yoder’s tradition of quality care. The physicians are currently working with Dr. Yoder to become familiar with the practice. They will begin accepting new patients later this summer.

Though the practice has a new name, everything else remains the same: convenient location, quality care, and a patient-centered focus. Key team members will remain in their roles, including physician assistant Miranda Nolen and practice manager Brian Bruley.

Dr. Yoder has served Atmore since 1989. He originally worked with Dr. Harry Moore at Physicians Associates and later began his own practice, Atmore Family Medicine, in 1999. Among many contributions to the community, Dr. Yoder has served on the boards of the Atmore YMCA and Atmore Christian School and is currently the medical director for Atmore Ambulance and Community Hospice. He is very active in his church, Mennonite Christian Fellowship.

William Grissett, chairman of the ACH Board of Directors, praised Dr. Yoder’s years of dedicated, compassionate and quality care for his patients.

“Dr. Yoder has been a tremendous asset to the Atmore community and he will continue to influence the quality of life of Atmore for years to come,“ Grissett said.

Drs. Shane and Sheldon Harigel will welcome new patients ages 2 and older beginning in late July. For an appointment, call 251.368.7974. Medicare, Medicaid and most major insurances are accepted.
