T.S. Debby

Tropical Storm Debby formed on Saturday in the Gulf of Mexico.  The center on the storm is about 200 miles south of the mouth of the Mississippi River.  Sustained winds are about 50 mph.  It is expected to continue north through Monday and then take a westerly turn on Tuesday.  If you are tracking TS Debby the coordinates place her near 26.2 N and 87.6W.

This is the first recorded time when there have been four named Tropical Storms before July 1st.  Records go back to the 1850’s.
