Ambulance Hit on I-10 by Intoxicated Driver

Bradley Glenn Price, 25, of Pace, FL  was traveling westbound in the eastbound inside lane of SR 8 (I-10) at Mile Marker 38 traveling the wrong direction at 3:30 am on Friday morning June 15th. He was driving a 1994 Chevy S-10.  The Ambulance  was traveling eastbound in the inside eastbound lane of SR 8 (I-10) at Mile Marker 38 approaching  Price.   James Whitley and Timothy Young,  observed the pickup  traveling the wrong direction towards him causing Whitley the driver of the ambulance to veer to the right in an attempt to avoid a head on collision with Price. This caused the left side of the pickup to strike the rear left side of the ambulance. The ambulance was moved from final rest prior to this investigators arrival. Price continued traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of SR 8 after the initial point of impact with the ambulance at Mile Marker 38.

Price fled the scene of the crash leaving no information. Santa Rosa Deputies spotted the pickup drive into the grassy median of SR 8 at Mile Marker 33 after the initial collision from a bolo they received and were able to stop the vehicle from continuing to travel.  Price received minor injuries, but both the driver and passenger of the ambulance were unharmed.

Price refused to provide a blood sample after implied consent was read at the hospital at 5:20 am on 06/15/12. He was arrested and charged for DUI.
