SR County Wants to Hear About Your Storm Damages

Santa Rosa County wants to hear from the residents on their storm damages

  • Residents with damage to their home are asked to contact Santa Rosa County Emergency Management if they have not yet done so. The county is seeking an individual assistance declaration and a preliminary damage assessment team for the area. If approved, residents and business owners could be eligible to apply for federal assistance for damages not covered by insurance.  Report damage by:

o       Emailing your name, contact number, address of the location of damage, brief description of the damage and photos if available tobreakingnews@santarosa.fl.gov. A link is also available at www.santarosa.fl.gov.

o       Residents without email service can report damage by calling (850) 983-5360.

  • If you have already begun repairs, be sure to take photos of the damage and keep all receipts for any repairs you make. Make sure the date is clearly visible on all receipts.
  • To date, 34 homes have been reported as having some level of storm relegated damage (flooding or lightning strike) to the livable area of the structure. Only one business, Southern Raceway, has reported damage.
  • The county-wide losses are less than previously thought, estimated at $25,000 for damage, supplies and staff time. This figure includes the City of Gulf Breeze.
  • Residents that have a safety concern about their flooded home can request a free safety inspection by calling Santa Rosa County Development Services at(850) 981-7000.
