Homelessness Public Service Announcement
The Communities of Learning Department of Santa Rosa County sponsored a contest to bring attention to the “Faces of the Homeless” and what can be done.
The Contest asked students and groups to develop a Public
Service Announcement (PSA) and a poster. They wanted the video to help the student body at schools to connect, respond and act to help someone that is in a homelessness situation.
Homelessness: is anyone who lacks fixed, regular and adequate nighttime residence; unaccompanied youth can be defined as anyone who is not in the physical custody of a parent or guardian.
Communities of Learning’s 2012 PSA Contest:
1st place for video : Pace High School: Jacob Breland, Daniel Cheer, Ryan McBride. Jake Trevino and Ian Wolverton
1st Place for Poster Contest : King Middle School : Contestants included: Isabella Lavinder, Arial Taylor, and Alicia King
