Register Today for Summer Reading Program

 Area Children Invited to Participate in Summer Reading Program 

Calling all dreamers! Reach for the Stars at your Santa Rosa County Library’s summer reading program, Dream Big—READ! about all things nocturnal—dreams, stars and planets, bats, owls, spooky stories, and more.  

 Online registration opens June 1 at   www.santarosa.fl.gov/libraries . After registering, you may print a reading calendar online or stop in at your local library and pick one up. On June 3, start reading at least 15 minutes each day for great prizes! Minutes read by parents to pre-schoolers may be counted.

 Explore the night at our programs from June 11 – July 20. Story time for 3-5 year olds (who are able to attend without a caregiver) will be held at 11 a.m. on Mondays at Jay Library, Tuesdays at Navarre Library, Wednesdays at Milton Library, Thursdays at Gulf Breeze Library, and Fridays at Pace Library.

 Programs for those in K-5 th grades during the 2011/2012 school year will be held on Mondays at 2 p.m. at the Jay Library, Tuesdays at 1 p.m. at the Navarre Library, Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m. at the Pace Library, Wednesdays at 1 p.m. at the Milton Library, and Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. at the Gulf Breeze Library. Program details can be found at the online Children’s Events Calendar, or you may pick up a flyer of summer events at your local library. All activities are free and open to the public.

 Presenters in the weekly library programs are sponsored by Friends of the Milton Library, Friends of the Navarre Library, Friends of the Gulf Breeze Library, and Friends of the Pace Library. Featured programs include “ Beyond Your Wildest Imagination” by Pat Nease, “ Night Creatures” by Barbara Almario of the Florida Wildlife Commission, “Dreaming Big in Song” by Melinda Mills, “ The Dream World of Magic” by Beau Broomall, “ Star Stories – Shadow Puppet Theater” by Katie Adams, and “ Cinderella’s Big Dream” by the Jacksonville University Storybook Theater.

 Prizes and awards are sponsored by the following community sponsors: Ridge Cinema 8, Oops Alley, Blue Wahoos, Baskin Robbins – Gulf Breeze Parkway ,IMAX Theater – Naval Aviation Museum, Whataburger, and Texas Roadhouse.
