Jay Rolls Over Rocky Bayou
The Jay High Royals Varsity came out and played two quarters of football against the Rocky Bayou Knights winning the competition 20-7. The varsity 2nd string took the field in the second quarter already down 14-8. Running for the Royals, Brandon Boutwell had an impressive 30 yard run, followed up by Justice Garcia having 6 short runs totaling 30 yards and taking the ball in the end zone. At half-time the Royals were still down 21-14.
The third quarter started the Varsity Jamboree with a clean slate. The Royals hit quick with #23, Braden Cross going in for a touchdown. The PAT was good, kicking on the night for the Royals was #19, Dakota R. Smith. The Royals continued to dominate the field with great blocks and some very strong hits on defense. Tate Upton had a long run, then with 4:45 left in the game, he took the ball into the end zone. The Knights scored late in the game bringing the final score 20-7.
