Local Players headed to Subway All-Star Softball and Baseball Games

Subway High School All-Star Baseball and Softball Rosters Announced 
Pensacola Sports Association’s Annual Game Scheduled for Thursday, May 24, 2012

The Pensacola Sports Association announced today the rosters for the 2012 Subway High School All-Star Baseball and Softball Game Presented by the Andrews Institute.  The 6th annual all-star game is scheduled for Thursday, May 24 at the University of West Florida baseball and softball field complex.   Beginning at 6 p.m. the women will have their first pitch followed by the men’s first pitch at 6:30 p.m.

Playing from NorthSantaRosa are: Tessa Hendricks, Becca Calloway, Sammy James and Dylan Peacock.  Congrats to our local players.

 This year’s game features some of the best seniors from Okaloosa and Santa Rosa Counties (East) playing against the seniors from Escambia County (West).   Head coaches for this year’s event include Brian Watson from Jay High School for the east softball team and Mike Haveard from Pine Forest for the west softball team.  In the baseball game, Cory Hamrick from Niceville High will head up the east team while Tate High’s Greg Blackmon will lead the west boys.

Tickets to the game are only $7.  Fans are encouraged to bring canned good items to donate to the Manna Food Pantry to get a discount on game admission.

In addition to the two all-star games, both games will feature a homerun derby an hour prior to each game.  Two players from each all-star team will be swinging for the fences for the chance to win a gift card to Academy Sports and Outdoors.

Fan events will include the Academy Sports + Outdoors Fan Contest in which four lucky fans will have the opportunity to win up to $200 each in Academy Sports + Outdoors gift cards.
