Madison Found Guilty of First Degree Felony Murder
State Attorney, William “Bill” Eddins announces that on Friday, May 11, 2012, Regis Reymon Madison was found guilty by a Santa Rosa County Jury of First Degree Felony Murder and Robbery with a Firearm. The verdict was handed down at 9:30 p.m. Friday night after 3 ½ hours of jury deliberation. Circuit Judge David Rimmer immediately sentenced Madison, a fourteen (14) time convicted felon, to life in prison without the possibility of parole on Count I First Degree Murder and a consecutive life sentence for Count II Robbery with a Firearm.
The charges arose out of the shooting death of eighteen (18) year old William Russell Warrick, Jr. In Pace, Florida on January 19, 2010. Madison was one of five (5) individuals who committed a robbery of Warrick for 2 ounces of marijuana. The other four were Dominique Hill, Justin McQueen, Jarryd Butler and Marguerite Hill. Warrick was shot to death by Dominique Hill during the Robbery in which Madison carried a sawed-off shotgun.
Madison was apprehended in Lafayette, Louisiana by U. S. Marshall’s task force on January 23, 2010. The shooter, Dominique Hill, was tried and convicted of First Degree Pre-Meditated and Felony Murder and Robbery with a Firearm in November, 2011 and has been sentenced to two consecutive life sentences as well. The three remaining co-defendants, who were not armed during the robbery, entered pleas to lesser included offenses and testified in the Hill and Madison trials. They face sentences of up to twenty (20) years in state prison for their involvement in the death and robbery.
