Jay Cheerleaders selected to PSC Squad

Tori Reid and Crystal Brown, were selected for the Pensacola State College Cheerleading Squad.  Both Crystal and Tori were on the Varsity and Competition Squads at Jay High School.

Crystal is the daughter of Mickey and Roberta Brown.  She has lettered in Cheerleading for 5 years.  After graduation she will  attend Pensacola State College.  Crystal eventuallywants become a Neonatal Nurse.  The things she will miss most about cheerleading at Jay is cheering at the football games, doing the sprinkler with her dad, crazy conversations with the girls, “stunting is a habit” , Jody’s basket and switch up, waking up at 5 am on Saturday’s for competitions, big black bruises and busted lips, Big Baby Q.  She will also miss being a part of the best squad to ever come through Jay High and every single one of those beautiful girls she loves so much. Crystal said, “It was probably the hardest three days I’ve ever had! I think that the competition squad helped me in so many ways. It helped me grow as a cheerleader and I don’t think I would have been ready for tryouts had I not been a part of that this year. It definitely taught me how to perform better under pressure! This is a great opportunity for Tori and I, and I can’t wait to start the season. I’m excited to cheer for the Pirates, but I’ll always be a Royal at heart.”

Tori Reid is the daughter of Keith Reid and Chasity Reid.  She has lettered in Cheerleading for the past 3 years. She is also a member of the JHS Competition Cheer Squad.  Tori will attend Pensacola State and pursue a career in nursing.  The things she is going to miss the most about cheerleading at Jay will be those long bus rides where we learned so much about each other, fashion shows in the hotel, playing big booty on the bus, the Terrible Four, Mrs. Fischer and her Fischer Fits, Friday night football games, being the champions of “we’ve got spirit”, playing in the rain, prettyfly-especially when Crystal’s dad does it, those lovely 8 am summer practices, kick falls,  bruises, “I Believe”, and most of all being able to be apart of an amazing cheerleading and competition squad.
