Relay for Life Winners
The 10th Annual Jay Relay for Life held at the Merle V. North Stadium on April 20 and 21st raised $41,410.95. The Jay Hospital Relay Team was the top winner for money raised with $5929.89, in 2nd place was Kids for A Cure with $4675.52 and in 3rd place Mount Carmel with $3685.35. The Luminaria Committee raised $1136.
The Award for the Best Campsite went to EREC. Coming in 2nd was Purple Power and in third place Jay Elementary PTO. The Survivors Choice for Campsite also went to EREC.
The best “Free Event and Event Spirit” went to Jay Elementary PTO.
The Individual with the Most Laps was Trudy Routley. Trudy (4th consecutive win) had 55 laps. The Jay Elementary PTO had the most team laps with 548 laps.
Plans for next year are already underway. The first planning meeting will be May 15 at 6 pm at the Mount Carmel United Methodist Church. Six teams have already signed up for 2012. Award photos for 2012 Teams will be taken at this meeting, all team members are encouraged to attend.
