JHS Tennis Team Wins over Freeport

The JHS Tennis Team defeated Freeport for the second time this season.  Ch. Melvin Kersey, remarked,  “The team has exceeded my expectations, they are doing real well, we just go out there and keep trying to improve.”  The team has just four meets left.  They will face TR Miller on Friday at home.  This will be a tough opponent for the Royals.

The Jay Boys won 7-0.  Evan Goodson 8-1; Eric Travino 8-3; Cody Paramore 8-2; Justice Garcia 8-4; Dylan Wolfe 8-0; Evan/Eric 8-2; and Cody/Justice 8-1.

The Girls won 6-1.  Emily Russell 5-8; Sara Whitehead 8-1; Emily Russell/ Allison Russel 8-0.  Freeport had no other girls and so the Royals won the last 4 games by default.

The JHS Boys Team has a 5-3 record and the Girls record is 3-5.
