Pace Man Dies in Tragic Accident
A 2003 Dodge Pickup, driven by Tahir Horatio Wallen, 18 o f Milton, was involved in a single car accident Saturday, March 3 around 1pm. Wallen was traveling southbound on Highway 87 near Old Choctaw Rd. According to witnesses, he traveled out of control on the wet road surface and began to rotate counter clockwise across the northbound lane. Leading with its right front, the truck left the paved portion of the roadway onto the east shoulder and continued to rotate counter clockwise. Then the vehicle entered into the wood line and struck two large pine trees with its right front and right door. The pickup rotated counter clockwise around the collision and ejected the right front passenger. The pickup struck a third tree with its left front before coming to final rest next to the wood line while facing a southerly direction. During the violent chain of events, right front passenger, William Fredrick Beasley, 22 of Pace, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by Santa Rosa County Paramedic. A second passenger, Keith Hollis Colvin, 19 of Pace was treated for minor injuries but not transported to a hospital. Wallen was transported to Santa Rosa Medical Center with minor injuries. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, seatbelts were not in use by any of the passengers or driver of the vehicle.
