(Milton, FL) A Project Learning Tree workshop for teachers and those that work with scouts, 4-H and other youth groups will be offered Saturday, March 3, 2012 from 9 am until 3:00 pm at the PSC Milton Campus. Cost is $20.00. Project Learning Tree (PLT) is an award-winning, interdisciplinary, environmental education program designed for formal and non-formal educators working with students in pre-kindergarten through grade twelve. PLT uses trees and forests as the context to help young people gain an awareness and knowledge of natural and built environments. PLT stimulates students’ critical and creative thinking; develop students’ ability to make informed decisions on environmental issues; and instills a commitment of responsible action on behalf of the environment. This workshop is being held in conjunction with the PSC Forestry Conclave. Participants receive a curriculum book with more than 90 hands-on activities.
