Wright Hits Grand Slam in Lady Royals Win

The Jay High Lady Royals defeated Central 14-5 Tuesday night.  Olivia Wright, a junior at Jay, went 3  for 5 with 2 doubles, and a grand slam.  Olivia had 5 RBI’s.  Also hitting for the Lady Royals: Camile Driver 2 for 3 with a double, 2 runs and 2 RBI’s; and Samantha Steadham 2 for 3 with a double, a run and one RBI.  Dana Blackmon was the winning pitcher going 7 innings, giving up 2 earned runs, 3 walks, 8 hits and 5 strike outs.   Head coach for the Lady Royals,   Brian Watson, was “really happy with the way the girls hit the ball, it was good to see them swinging the bat”.

Sarah Forsythe, of the Lady Jags went 2/2 scoring 2 runs and walking twice.
