Senior Night at Jay High Gym

The Jay Royals honored all the Senior Boys Basketball player and the Senior members of the Varsity Cheerleading Squad.  Meet your Seniors:

Crystal Brown

Crystal is the daughter of Mickey and Roberta Brown.  She is a member of Christian World Order, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Health Occupations Students of America.  She is also a member of Cora Baptist Church where she is active in the Youth Group, Adult Choir and helps teach the 3-5 year old Sunday School Class.  Crystal  has lettered in Cheerleading for 5 years, Cross Country 2 years, Track 2 years, and Softball 1 year.  After graduation she plans to attend Pensacola State College and the University of West Florida to eventually become a Neonatal Nurse.  The things she will miss most about cheerleading is cheering at the football games, doing the sprinkler with her dad, crazy conversations with the girls, “stunting is a habit” , Jody’s basket and switch up, waking up at 5 am on Saturday’s for competitions, big black bruises and busted lips, Big Baby Q.  She will also miss being a part of the best squad to ever come through jay High and every single one of those beautiful girls she loves so much.

Tessa Hendricks

Tessa is the daughter of Ricky and Nina Hendricks.  She is a member of SGA, Beta, NHS, NAHS, FFA, Ro Kappa, FCCLA, Yearbook, and Spanish Club.  She is also on the Volleyball, basketball and softball teams. She has cheered for 3 years and will miss the girls very much.  They have become her best friends over the years.  She plans on going to Alabama in the Fall and wants to become an orthodontist.

Meredith Owens

Meredith is the daughter of Rick and Sabrina Owens.  She is a member of SGA, Nation Honors Society, Senior Beta, Future Career and Community Leaders of America, the JHS Tennis team and has cheered for 6 years.  After graduation, she plans to attend the University of Alabama and become an anesthesiologist. Meredith was voted “Most Likely to Succeed” by the senior class.  To all of her fellow cheerleaders, “I wish everyone the best and thank you for making my senior year unforgettable.”

Sara Abigail Raney  AKA –Abby

Abby is the daughter of Lance and Shirley Raney.  She is involved in Book Club, Spanish Club, CWO, Beta, Tri-M, SGA, Yearbook, and FCCLA.  Abby was involved in Cross Country for 4 years, Track for 6 years, Varsity Cheerleading for 3 years and JHS Competition Cheer Squad for one year.  She plans on attending a major university after high school.  To all the girls on the Cheer squad, “before this year I was only friends with a few of you, but now I consider you all family.  You’ve made my senior year more amazing then I  could’ve ever imagined, all our trips, times we have cried, it has all been together.  I love you all so much.”

Tori Daniela Reid

Tori Reid is the daughter of Keith Reid and Chasity Reid.  She has lettered in Cheerleading for the past 3 years. She is also a member of the JHS Competition Cheer Squad which is currently state bound.  At Jay High School she is an active member of the Spanish Club, FCCLA, FFA, and CWO.  She is planning on attending Tallahassee Community College to pursue a career in nursing.  The things she is going to miss the most about cheerleading will be those long bus rides where we learned so much about each other, fashion shows in the hotel, playing big booty on the bus, the Terrible Four, Mrs. Fischer and her Fischer Fits, Friday night football games, being the champions of “we’ve got spirit”, playing in the rain, prettyfly-especially when Crystal’s dad does it, those lovely 8 am summer practices, kick falls,  bruises, “I Believe”, and most of all being able to be apart of an amazing cheerleading and competition squad.

Todd Laney

Todd is the son of Tim and Vicky Laney.  He has lettered 4 years in Basketball, 3 years in Baseball, 2 years in Football.  He is a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club, Spanish Club, FFA, FCCLA, and Executive Producer of ITV.  He hopes to play basketball at the next level, if not he plans to attend FSU and become an Athletic Trainer.

Haden McCaskill

Haden is the son of Gary and Teresa McCaskill.  He lettered 4 years in football, 3 years in baseball, and 2 years in basketball.  He is treasurer of the SGA and a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  He currently holds a 3.9 GPA and is planning to attend the University of West Florida this fall and major in Athletic Training.  He was voted, “Best Guy to take home to Mom!” by the senior class.

Tyler Prescott

Tyler is the son of Brian and Becky Prescott.  He has lettered in Basketball  4 years, Baseball 3 years, and is the Reporter for the Spanish Club and a FFA member for 5 years.  Tyler is the Sports Anchor for WJHS (ITV) and is planning on attending college to play baseball and major in Athletic Training.

Quinten Antonio Garcia

Quinten is the son of Julie and Steven Newberry. “ Big Baby Q” was voted by his peers to receive the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Challenger Award in football this year for reflecting Christian qualities as an athlete on and off the field.  He is a member of Jay First Baptist Church, where he has been involved on numerous mission trips and Habitat for Humanity projects.  Quinten has lettered for four years in Varsity Football, 2 years in Weightlifting, 2 years in Track, and one year in Varsity Basketball.  Quinten was also voted 2012 Mr. Jay High and Cheerleader Sweetheart.
